Bruce Pearl Steps Over the Line

Vols 82, Xavier 75
Seriously, how can you take a technical foul at that point in the game? Luckily, the players took control. Man, the Vols showed a lot of speed late in the game. Give player of the game to J.P Prince with 23 points.

Overall, it was a great game to watch and the highlight of the game may have been Drew Lavendar's one-handed bounce-pass assist with 2:40 to play in the first half.

#2 Memphis 85, #5 Georgetown 71

Great first half, but this one fell apart. Roy Hibbert ends with six points?

Just A Basketball School Now

Nebraska knocks off #16 Oregon 88-79 in overtime and now stands at 8-2. They've got losses at Creighton and Western Kentucky. The Big 12 better have this team on the radar.

Meanwhile, Arizona State pounds #17 Xavier 77-55.

"It was ASU's first home victory over a ranked nonconference opponent since
Dec. 20, 1980, when the Sun Devils defeated No. 7 Ohio State."

Really? That's insane.

Other notes ... at 5-3 Louisville can say goodbye to the Top 25 for a while (67-59 loss to Purdue) ... Baylor scored 100 yesterday against Wayland Baptist? The Bears are 7-1 ... The Shockers might be missing Mark Turgeon. Yesterday they lost to UMKC 59-56 after holding a 13-point lead early in the second half. Wichita State is now 5-4 ... my tickets fell through for the KU game, but the Hawks are doing all right.
