Indecent Exposure

It was generally accepted that Michael Beasley would be the best player on the court when KU and K-State met last night in Manhattan. What may be a surprise to KU fans is that none of they Jayhawk McDonald's All-Americans could even contend for second best player on the floor. Bill Walker's early putbacks on the offensive glass really set the tone for this contest which ended with a 84-75 KSU victory. It was an impressive display for the two-man Beasley/Walker show. The KU crew looked totally outmatched. Of course, this should be a three game series, so it will be interesting to see how the Wildcats play in Lawrence on March 1. Game three looks like it could be on March 16 in Kansas City.

Memphis Finishes: KU Rolling 44-15

Memphis finished off Gonzaga with relative ease 81-73. Chris Douglas-Roberts has 21 points for the number one ranked Tigers and Derrick Rose added 19. A statement game for Memphis.

KU is just smacking Nebraska around in Lawrence. The halftime score is 44-15 and the viewers are starting to doze. This could be quite a duel between the last two unbeaten teams.

Didn't we just mention that KU's two biggest rivals knocked off big teams this weekend? Take it easy buddy and try to filter the info that Oprah is presenting to you. It's really all about being undefeated in March, not a fast start in January.

So the lesson here is ... when the Jayhawks start to fall asleep with a big lead, you don't poke the bear with a stick. BC cut into KU's massive lead early in the second half with an 11-point run. At this point, Rakim Sanders of BC and Mario Chalmers of KU got into little jawing match. Game over. The Jayhawks never looked back.
